I’ve always loved Aldous Huxley; so many beautiful books and quotes from such a lovely spirit! I highly recommend all of his writings, if you haven’t yet discovered him.
Here’s one that spoke to me today… perhaps it will speak to you, as well. “Lightly my darling.”
It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly my darling.
Lastly, if you are someone interested in the psychedelic experience, Huxley’s book, “The Doors of Perception” is an excellent first read. Written in 1954, this book takes us along with the author and philosopher on a beautiful psychedelic experience. (As always, I recommend finding it in a small bookstore.)
